Day 216 – We All Know

Art Apple - Day Two Hundred Sixteen“When my daughter was about seven, she asked me what I did at work. I told her that my job was to teach people how to draw. She stared at me, incredulous, and said, “You mean they forget?” ~Howard Ikemoto

You don’t forget how to sneeze or to sing – these are things we are born knowing.

You haven’t forgotten how to draw.

Until tomorrow.

Day 216 was created in graphite, acrylic, and watercolor.

Many thanks to Julia Forsyth for the quote she posted today on her facebook page – wonderful inspiration!

  1. It does look like a mother and daughter. I remember some wooden sculptures that resembled those in your apple and my mom is wonderful in fact probably one of the kindest people you would ever meet

    1. Isn’t that interesting – I do see the mother/daughter although I cannot take credit for planning it 🙂 I’m so glad you have a wonderful mom – xox Jenna

  2. Such a cute blurb! Funny how kids just love drawing and it doesn’t matter what others thing or how good they think they are. I feel like adults tend to shy away from it if they don’t feel like they hold a special talent for it. Maybe I’ll doodle a little something in your honor!

    1. Felicia – I wish I could figure out a way to get all adults back to that joyous and carefree time.

I would adore a doodle – I’m sure it would be amazing!
