Today is Day 65 of the Art Apple A Day Retrospective – for information on the project click here.

Day Sixty Five – December 4, 2010

Looking back 10 years ago today…

It’s really interesting to try to put myself back in time 10 years. I wish I had kept a journal of the feelings and creative struggles. I remember vividly how difficult it was to come up with idea after idea after idea but I don’t have as much of the back story as I wish I had now. I’m piecing it together but looking at this polar bear makes me really wonder where he came from… let’s be honest… I could pick any idea out of a hat and throw an apple in with it and viola – art apple a day!

I don’t think it matters but I do prefer some of the more clever apples where the design is within the shape of an apple! I’m my biggest critic for sure but to be THAT clever for 365 days straight seems, if not impossible, something that would need more planning! I love those clever ones so much that I think that is a big part of why I keep creating them. This retrospective year I’ve committed to creating one new Apple For A.S. each month. So far my October apple is a Sugar Skull – which shows the idea morphing with the basic apple shape. And for November, I did a fall pattern within the shape of the apple. I love them both for different reasons. My mind is now full of Christmas/Holiday apple ideas… we’ll see what happens! If you have any ideas please send me a message here in the comments, on Instagram, or (on Facebook – I was trying to not post there but people seem to want to find my apples there so I will continue to do so)

Take a peek at the original post where you can find a link to adopt a Polar Bear and see an adorable video of a polar bear playing with a big red ball. Because… why not!
